Animal Aromatherapy & Zoopharmacognosy for pets
Offering diluted plant extracts and essential oils for an animal to approach, inhale, or turn away from. The animal chooses, the practitioner observes.
Animal aromatherapy in its choice-based form (applied zoopharmacognosy) presents an animal with diluted botanical extracts and lets them approach, inhale, mouth, or decline each one. The practitioner interprets the animal's behavior rather than administering a dose. It is used for stress and emotional regulation, transitions, skin and coat comfort, and enrichment, with careful species-safety limits, especially around cats.
What to expect: A session runs 45 to 75 minutes in a well-ventilated space. The practitioner opens each extract and holds it at a distance the animal can move toward or away from, watching for licking, chewing, yawning, leaning in, or turning away. Nothing is applied to the animal or forced. You may get guidance on a small home kit, with clear species-safety rules.
