Functional Pet Nutrition for pets
Building a species-appropriate, individualized diet (raw, gently cooked, or formulated) to support a specific goal, ideally with veterinary nutrition input.
Functional pet nutrition designs a complete diet for an individual dog or cat around a goal such as weight loss, skin and gut issues, organ support, food sensitivities, or performance, using home-cooked, raw, or tailored commercial approaches. A properly balanced formulation and coordination with the animal's veterinarian, especially for any diagnosed condition, are what separate this from guesswork.
What to expect: A consult covers current diet, body condition, bloodwork, diagnoses, and preferences. You get a written plan, either recipes with supplements and grams or a specific product plan, plus a transition schedule and recheck points such as weight, stool, coat, and repeat labs. Plans are adjusted as the animal responds.
Good fit for: You want a complete, balanced plan rather than trial and error, Your vet is involved for any medical condition, You can weigh food and follow a recipe consistently, You want measurable check-ins (weight, labs, coat, stool)
Not the right fit if: The animal has an undiagnosed problem. Get a veterinary work-up first, You want a raw diet for an immunocompromised animal or household, The plan is not formulated to meet full nutrient requirements, The cost or time to prepare balanced meals is not sustainable
Complementary care, not veterinary medicine. For an emergency, contact your veterinarian.
