Healing Touch for Animals for pets
A structured energy-based method using light touch and near-body hand movements, offered in a calm, systematic sequence.
Healing Touch for Animals (HTA), also called the Komitor Healing Method, is a defined program of light touch and slow near-body hand movements performed in a set sequence. It was created in 1996 by Carol Komitor, who worked for many years as a veterinary technician before training as a Healing Touch practitioner and adapting the human method for animals. It is used for stress and behavioral tension, for recovery support after injury or surgery, and for animals who need very gentle handling, alongside veterinary care.
What to expect: A session runs 30 to 60 minutes in a quiet setting. The practitioner uses light touch and slow hand passes near the body in a set order, pausing to let the animal respond. Animals commonly relax, yawn, or sleep. There is no manipulation or restraint. A few sessions help decide whether it is useful for a given animal.
