Relational Therapy
Support focused on relationship dynamics, communication patterns, and emotional needs.
Relational therapy is a broad term for approaches that center the role of relationships (past and present) in emotional wellbeing. The therapeutic relationship itself is often used as a living example of relational patterns. The focus is on understanding how we relate, what we need, and where those needs came from, rather than on behavior change or symptom management.
Therapy focused on relational dynamics, communication, and patterns in connection.
What to expect: Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes. The approach is conversational and relational. The practitioner is present and responsive rather than detached and analytical. Progress is usually gradual and comes through the relationship over time. Relational work is usually open-ended and longer-term. After 10–15 sessions, have an honest conversation with your therapist about what is shifting in how you experience yourself in relationships, and what you still want to work on.
