Values-Based Coaching
Coaching that helps align actions with values and reduce internal conflict.
Values-based coaching starts from a simple premise: much of what feels stuck, draining, or conflicted in life comes from living out of alignment with what you actually care about. The work focuses on clarifying values, identifying where life is misaligned with them, and developing a clearer sense of direction based on what genuinely matters.
Coaching that helps you clarify what matters and align your life accordingly.
What to expect: Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes. The early work focuses on values clarification — often a more nuanced process than it sounds. From there, the coach helps you identify where misalignment shows up and what changes might close the gap. The work is reflective and exploratory. Values clarification itself typically takes 3–5 sessions. After that, the work shifts to alignment — which is longer-term. After 8–10 sessions total, check in with your coach about what has become clearer and what decisions or changes are still ahead.
Good fit for: You want meaning-focused support, Clarity on values and direction is your main concern, You are generally functional and want to orient more intentionally, You prefer reflective work over skills-building
Explore for: Feeling like something important is missing despite external success, Internal conflict between what you're doing and what feels right, Low motivation that doesn't have an obvious cause, Wanting clarity on what matters before making a significant decision, A sense that your life has drifted from what is meaningful to you
Not the right fit if: You need clinical support, You want purely practical, action-focused coaching, You are in acute crisis, You are looking for a quick decision-making framework
How to choose a practitioner: Look for an ICF-credentialed coach — values-based coaching is a broad orientation, not a separate certification Ask how they approach values work and what the process looks like Choose someone whose own framing feels genuinely thoughtful rather than formulaic
